1972 GMC C10 Pro Touring Build

Hi everyone, started a new project for 2024.
-Started with a 72 long bed
      -Shorten the box
-Stock frame with Scott’s hot rods 4 link and IFS
      -Wilwood modular spindles
      -LT4 with 10speed auto
-Was going to be patina, but that ship may be sailing away

This looks like a cool start to a rad truck. I have a question about the frame shortening though... and I am not throwing shade: is that the entirety of the shortening process? Just the short-ish doubler-channel bolted in the middle like that? There is obviously some good fab work happening there, but where the frame is bolted back together doesn't look up to that task to me.

Again, not flaming, just wondering I have missed something?

It does get welded also, I just didn’t have that done for the picture
