      TKX crossmember

How would you guys go about eliminating these spacers?

The crossmember is from the summit frame brace kit. This is on my 66 GTO.

      Thanks!

is there a rubber trans mount installed? if not, that would displace the outer spacers

Energy suspension PN 3.1158G is what I used on my 68 GTO with G Force x member and TKX.
They also have a taller version

American Powertrain sends a composite type of mount to use. That’s what is on there now.

      Thanks for the replies!

I would space the trans mount up and have the crossmember sit flat to the frame pieces. Only 1 spacer vs 2.

If you can fab, another option is to cut the top plates off the crossmember and reposition them lower. That is probably the best solution.

You need a trans mount between the tailshaft housing and the crossmember. That will allow you to ditch the outer spacers where the crossmember mates to the frame.

Without a trans mount, there is too much twist between motor mounts and chassis flex. I seen guys break the tailshaft housing due to flex on hard launch.
