Dynacorn billet hood hinge strut problem

Hi all, I purchased a set of Dynacorn BH02 billet hood hinges and had them installed. The hood does not stay up. I have tried struts from Eddie motorsports and Ring brothers and neither set of struts would fit. They were both too long. The Dynacorn strut is 7" center of eyelet to center of eyelet fully extended. Has anyone else had this issue and did you find a strut that will fit? Dynacorn could not tell me what weight the struts are but I was going to try 265 lbs struts first if I can find something that fits. I also have 2.5" cowl hood so slightly heavier than original on my 80.

These are the people that took over selling hood hinge struts from Fesler when they stopped; not certain if they might be of help in your situation or not.

I am trying to find some custom length struts or a solution myself for my hood hinges…the ones that came with my ring brothers wont fit because of my cowl G braces…..Does anyone make custom ones?
