      Holley EFI deliveries

Has anyone received a system lately? Ordered a Terminator Max for a small block Chevy. Original delivery date was early Dec, then late Dec, now early Feb. Trying to decide if I need a backup plan. Not that I have any idea what it would be.

This is Summit but Holley direct shows same long delivery.

Good luck. Find it in stock somewhere is the best back up plan.

Holley has been backed up a while for deliveries and service, they're still having parts supply issues. If you can't find something in stock at a dealer, be prepared to wait.

They're having issues getting parts for service too. Earlier this year I sent 2 Snipers back, one with a bad ECU that liked to frequently have random shutdowns and about 10% of the time after a shutdown it would hang the fuel pump on and injectors wide open and fill the engine with gas in a matter of seconds until you pulled the negative battery cable, and the other Sniper had a bad injector. They turned one of them around in a day and the other in 2 days. Fast forward 7 months and I'm on week 4 now waiting for them to replace a bad injector in an 8-injector Terminator 4150 throttle body, and they can't give me an estimate when they'll have replacement injectors to fix it...

I heard from someone who has had one on order direct from Holley since July.

That happened to me last year at this time and it was about the same story. Almost better off finding a used setup.

It would help if they posted realistic delivery dates instead of sliding it out by a month every month. Pretty poor supply chain management.

Hop on facebook and look up groups like " Holley EFI discussion" "Holley EFI classifieds" and "Holley Terminator x owners and tech"

Lots of Holley dealers on there, and when they say they have something, it typically means its sitting on the shelf next to them. I ordered a dominator and wiring harness from one of the dealers on those pages, Holley said a few months, the guy I ordered it from had it to me in less than a week, for a better price.

It might be because I paid with PayPal, not sure. I did find a Terminator system locally for a good price. Not X Max but it will do what we need. Good price too.

Holley has been absolutely terrible with the terminator systems lately. I have at least 20 on order and basically no real ETA on when they are coming in. The dates just keep getting pushed even further back. This has been going on for quite a while now. What I have been having to do lately is piece the systems together. Yes, it cost more but at least you should be able to get what you need.

You have to wonder why you can piece systems together but Holley can’t….

Supply chains everywhere are still a mess.

At work some of our most frequently used items that used to be a 4-6 week lead time are now 8-10 month lead time... makes it really hard to meet a delivery date target, especially if we were quoted a shorter lead time on the materials when bidding the job but then the vendor triples or quadruples the lead time after the contract is signed. We just had an issue where some material we waited 5 months for was damaged in transit, now we have to wait another 5+ months for replacement material. Glad it wasn't me that had to break that news to the customer...

GM is still having plenty of restrictions and delays on certain options on new vehicle orders because they can't get the parts.

Why not look at a Haltech or even a Megasquirt system? Holley is ok, but be aware you are buying straight out of china w/ them.

To be honest I’m going Holley because I will have Andrew to tune it for me. I don’t have the time to mess with a different system, I just want it done in a minimum amount of time so I can move onto the next project.

The HP and Dominator ECUs are made in Canada. I'm not sure about the Terminator X or Snipers.

I disagree. Most of the fuel injectors are made in Greenville, SC. Regulators and sensors likely come from our MX facilities.

Certainly some supplied components are offshore but I would not characterize it at all as "straight out of China."
