So I've been working on the watts link setup and the rear cantilever coilover mounts. Sway bar will in mounted above the watts link. So I've been asking why punish myself with this complicated mess, mainly because its a great learning experience. But It will really open up the rear for more storage and bigger fuel cell.

Also some side notes I've noticed through all this: Dont be afraid to remake parts (thats the 3rd front crossmember), You have to do more prep and cleaning than working on the project, Most people don't see a car when you show them it in this stage its just a bunch of metal LOL(hit ya right in the feels). If anyone wants to see more photos or how I did something be happy to help, I found scouring forums a photo can be worth everything.

Glad you chose the watts link, I think you’ll like it better than a panhard bar since it’ll act the same turning either direction. Also I completely agree about not being afraid to scrap a project and try it again. I always try to think to myself that right when you realize an issue, that is the cheapest time you’ll ever have to fix it. Going forward it’ll only get worse.

Got the frame off the Table and onto my rotisserie made from stuff I had laying around. It will be good enough so I can weld the bottom up and sandblast the body inside.

Sand Blasting was not a fun time but, it gets into the places you cant reach so well worth it. Got Her sitting at the ride height I'm thinking about and getting everything setup to get the shock mounting done and figure out bump stops. I'd rather have the bump stops on the frame vs the shocks the front will take some mocking up. The rear crossmember needs braces but the will require the fuel cell.

Rear Suspension is basically completed, still have to finish welding the cantilever rockers and touching up a couple spots. I could use any advice on the rear sway bar link angle. I had to mount it higher for clearance of the watts link during suspension travel.

Front suspension will be finished up soon with the final upper mounts. Decided to make frame mounts so the front bars can get spread apart more which is going to help with the engine packaging. Coilovers got ordered, but I'll have to wait for the final weight to order the springs.

Holy smokes brother, that is an insane build. Congrats on taking on such a project. This is obviously a labor of love and I hate to ask but, how many hours do you think you have into it so far and how many more to go?

Thank you it is my first car so I've become attached to her. I know to this point it's taken 10months from the first frame tube to now.
roughly 300hrs would be my guess but probably more lol. My goal is to have it ready for dyno tuning end of the year and done next spring.

Got her on all four wheels. Still have to box some things in but all the suspension is done for the most part. The Rack and pinion mount is tacked in place I did level it out more after I took this photo, also looks like it will have a little room for adjustment if needed. The engine set in, I pushed it back as far as I could so that will definitely help, This Barra is a monster its really tall no way its going to fit under the hood but that's a problem for another day. I cut the flange off the intake and got some oval tube to make some runners for the intake. Working on the motor and frame mounts now.

Started working on The turbo placement and the turbo manifold design. I've always liked the forward mounted turbos for the style so with that as my base I designed the manifold. A couple things the I also wanted to keep in mind is equal runner lengths and a good wastegate location. The turbo is mounted on a 90 deg flange so the wastegate will go right at the end making that pretty easy. I wanted to be creative with the tubing and the design so using welding wire as stand ins I was able to try out several different designs with just a little bending. The final product will be made out of sch10 .15inch Stainless pipe. I have a temporary turbo support mount that will be adjusted when the manifold is completed.

Size: 413.1 KBAnd the rest of the exhaust showed up!! Going to be a single 4inch Stainless all the way back. Also finally decided on a muffler, after many hours of exhaust videos I went with black widows Widowmaker.

Now I get to make a jig and take this whole thing back apart for beveling and final adjustments.

That 6 into 1 flange is pretty sick. Nice looking build and great that you are using a different engine platform!
