Thank you. I have 2 hoods so I felt comfortable experimenting with one and it is turning out better than I expected.

I ordered the rear end for my my project finally. I am going with a 4 link and panhard bar. My thought is that I want to be able to set it up for drag racing but return it to parallel for the street. My first live was drag racing so I want to drive to the strip, lay down a low ET, and drive it home. I built a Factory Five Cobra previously and I loved driving that car but every time I stepped on the loud pedal, it smoked the tires like crazy. That was fun but they wouldn’t hook up until I got to 3rd or sometimes 4th gear.

Anyway, that drove me to the 4 link. I plan to weld the cross member to the rockers (which are in surprisingly good shape) and then put in 2x3 frame rails forward to tie in the front. I’ll put in time outriggers from the rails to the rockers for strength and for the roll cage mounting points.

The rockers are good but I am considering adding 1/8” plate to the inside to strengthen them a bit.

The rear will look something like this except I’ll have a panhard bar instead of the diagonal locator in the pictures.

How well does that rear suspension articulate?

I'm not sure. What is the proper measurement of articulation?

I have some time before the rear end shows up so I am trying to hone my painting skills. I had some lead foot gray laying around and I wanted to try my hand at ghost stripes.

I am thinking something like this. A smooth dash with a small sunshade over a 13” LCD digital dash from Autometer. I want to mount an iPad in the middle for entertainment and navigation. I want to recess it just a little to hide the charging cord. I plan to use a Bluetooth amp so I won’t need additional connections.

Made a little progress on the dash. I think I’ll paint the dash and cover the shade in leather.

Made some progress on the instrument shade. Took a few tries to get it right. 3 dimensions is one too many for me.

I think I want to use the Autometer Invision unit. I think it fits what I’m looking for a little better.

The rear end should be done soon so it’s time to get ready. I have to cut out pretty much all the flooring 26” forward of the rear axle centerline. I plan to weld the crossmember that has the driveline hoop on it to the rockers. The back rails extend back and pick up the rear panel and bumper mounts. I realize this will be much too weak by itself so I am adding a roll cage over the top and building frame rails from the new cross member to the front rails. I’ll connect the front rails to the rockers under the rollbar mounts. That should give me a good solid chassis.

The instrument cluster shade wasn’t quite level so I had to make some adjustments. I think it lines up better now.

      No going back

Ok, I am committed now. No going back since I cut out the whole back end. I’ll end up cutting away the rest after install the back half. Name: 7092993A-DBD3-4EC3-8B46-00BB1799A10B.jpg
