68 Camaro gas pedal and LS3...will not open throttle all the way

I have the 6 cylinder factory pedal assembly installed in my 68 Camaro, and I am in the process of installing an LS3 with Fitech fuel system. I also am using a Lokar 36" cable.

The issue is that I can not get the pedal to open the throttle all the way. The travel of the pedal only opens the throttle about a third of the way.

Any suggestions other than just installing a Lokar or Billet Specialties pedal assembly.

I run the 6 cyl. pedal on my 69 with a LoKar cable to a drive by cable throttle body and have no issues, which throttle body are you using and what bracket on the intake are you using if one?

My pedal only moves enough to open the throttle about half way.

Are you having any binding or trouble getting full articulation of the pedal? Like the pedal movement with the cable vs no cable? Is that the Lokar cable bracket at the throttle body?

Where and how are you attaching the cable at the throttle body?

Could the arm in the engine bay be bent out of shape not allowing for enough throw?

I'm wondering if the pedal itself isn't bent, it looks awfully close to the floor in your photo.

I had a similar issue with my stock pedal setup and a Holley Sniper. I just couldn’t get enough pedal travel to get 100% throttle. Part of it was the heavy return springs built into my throttle body. They’d cause deflection in my linkage and brackets. A Lokar pedal assembly and better throttle brackets were the solution. The Lokar pedal is adjustable, so you can get it higher off the floor if needed.

This right here, had the same problem in my 68 SS with the BBC in 1987, couldn't get the back barrels on the 850 to open, reached in there and pulled up on the gas pedal, fixed, years of use just bent the arm,
