School me on pole barns.
Well, dirt work is starting for a pad, and I have an overall idea of what I'm going after. Shop will be either 60x80x18 or 60x100. 1 14x14 overhead door centered, and next to that a 18x10 door for my '50 and '68 camaro. This will be for buisness and personal use, and to park my semi during inclimate weather. I have to have 900sq ft finished inside per zoning requirements *in the country* as if that makes sense, but it will make for a nice office, bathroom and storage upstairs. In floor heating will happen, and I'm debating the spray foam insulation in the walls. A 4 post and a 2 post lift. A small metal fab area, and about 4-5 full time customer cars at a time is the goal. Thoughts?

Where is this being built? That’s a long span for a pole barn, steel trusses or inside columns being used?

North of Lincoln nebraska. I havent had a guy say yet they can't do 60ft wide for stick built stuff. Looking at staying stick as metal frames are insane right now, and framing off for rooms inside will be easier.

We have hurricanes down here so I don’t see big spans on pole barns. Even the 30’ trusses had a lot fail in the center of the truss the last couple hurricanes. I assume you have snow load but no really bad wind.
