Hello to All, 1966 Fairlane Build

Hello all, my name is Dwight and I am not very familiar with forums such as this but thought I would give it a try. I am working on a build of a 1966 Ford Fairlane 500XL. The car that I am starting with is very clean and mostly rust free (see pics). I am still working through my overall plan but this is where I am at:

On order - Roadster Shop full frame with suspension 2" drop in the front, rear 4 link 9" with 3.70 or 3.50 gears
On order - Kaase 600ci boss 9, with stack injection and Holley dominator ECU

I have not ordered the trans yet but it will be a tremec 6 speed wide ratio

I removed a nice 289/C4, interior and rearend.

I have welded most of the bracing to hold the panels when I cut the floor out and the front end off.

This is going to be quite the build. Looking forward to the progress!

It looks like you have a very nice and rust-free starting point.

Roadster Shop frame? Nice!! I have a Schwartz Performance frame coming my way for my 1966 LeMans convertible build. Both are quality options.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your progress.

Can't wait to see this, just joined this group yesterday. I have the same model Fairlane and am starting my build as well. Not going as far as this though. Awesome post! Keep it coming!

Great body on that car. Cool to see lots of Fairlane projects popping up lately.

I'm excited to see this one. I also have a 66 but its not built to the level you're taking this one.

All just wanted to say nice to chat with you. I haven't made any progress recently but should be back to it in a couple weeks.

I would like to know if anyone can direct me to any info on using and incorporating the climate control/HVAC from a late model car, potentially a mustang? In addition, my current intent is to move all accessory to trunk and run electric with a 400 amp alternator. So if you know where I might find info on the AC compressor (guechen). I know there is a lot of negative conversations about this approach but the worst that can happen is I will fail and spent a bunch of money and didn't achieve the result I am going after....

      Best Regards,
      Dwight

Nice, these Fairlanes aren't seen nearly as much, they look so good.
Cars are meant to be driven.
