69 Mustang need help deciding which wheel to get???

Been using these Magnum 500s for years. Every 69/70 Mustang has them at a Car Show.
I’ve won many awards with these, but it’s now time to change for a more modern look.
I want to go with 18s in back and 17s in front. Right now there’s 15x10 5.5bs rears & 15x7 4.5 bs in front. I’m switch to Wilwood 4 wheel disc and coil over in front. Still gonna use stock front & rear suspension.
      Can’t afford Forgeline etc… around $1000 a wheel.
Looking at Billet Specialties or Weld.
Which is your pick. Thank you!!Name: 88BFAB43-1091-4915-87A9-565BB8369A21.jpeg

For the weld wheels I'd personally stick to the S71, but if you're willing to go up to $4k for a set of wheels I'd also look at forgestar and maybe BC forged monoblocks as well (I think they only make 18"+ though).

Your car looks very well integrated right now. I’m afraid if you put some modern pro-touring rims and thinner sidewalls it would jump out as a little inconsistent thematically. It would be the only thing from a different genre.
Just my $0.02 of course. Beautiful car and color.

I would go 18" all around. Maybe 245/40/18 front and 275/285/40/18 rear. The smaller front tire will give you a bit of rack.
I think a set of polished Torque Thrust II's would look great. Some what retro.

Everything looks good with a slotted mag, and it'll be period correct.

Something to keep in mind with larger wheels is weight. Larger wheel means more metal with the rubber, and that metal gets heavy fast. Some of the 18s can hit 50lbs or more just for the wheel itself, then you need the tire on top of that. The extra weight will affect handling and may require that you beef up the suspension which was designed around 25 to 30lb combined wheel and tire weight.

I think they make a simar wheel in 17s.

Well, I've not picked up EVERY wheel out there, but...

I was looking into a set of 18in slotted mags for my project, and per US Mags the ones I wanted (think it was U101s) were 50lbs just for the wheel. Very disappointing, and I decided against them. That was when I was planning on a 3 link solid axle, but since I switched to a C5 front and rear suspension on Dobbertons, I'm up in the air on wheels. Got a cheap set of 18s for a Corvette for the build process, and they're 31lbs a wheel. But, now when I make wheel recommendations I'll usually include a "check the weight" warning.
