1967 Camaro Ridetech Tru Turn ??

I was thinking about buying the tru turn by ridetech for my 67 Camaro but i saw where some inner fender modifications have to be made to fit a 10” wheel. Looking for anyone that has installed this and what mods had to be made.

How wide of a tire are you planning to run? 275 is pretty much max with TruTurn afaik and you don’t need a 10” wheel for a 275 tire.

I ran a 245 tire with TruTurn, hard to imagine a 275. Lot of negative camber.

I was thinking of running a 275 but not if its going to cause me a bunch of issues. Im going to run a 19x12 rear and i was just looking for a bit wider than a 8” wheel in the front. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Max for me would be a 255 on a 9” wheel. I used an 8.5 with my 245. There are some threads of guys trying to run 275 with TruTurn and getting a lot of rubbing. You have to nail the backspacing and run a lot of negative camber.

If you want to go wide Anvil inner fenders are a good option. I run them on my 69 with Art Morrison subframe. My wife’s 69 had TruTurn.

So do you think i could run a 9” wheel and not have all them issues?

It’s hard for me to say for sure. What size tire? Ultimately it’s the tire width, not the wheel width that causes the rubbing unless you are stretching the sidewall.

Man I’m not sure that just becuase you Can do it that You should do it. There’s so many variables. For me I’ve found that 235 is the widest I can go on my particular car without rubbing the subframe on turns.

I run a 245 40 18 , with a 9 inch rim, 6 inch back space and the ATS drop spindle, the only catch is you have use a hiem rod end instaed of a stock outer tie rod end. SO the inner part of the rim does not rub. Yes you have to drill out the taper on the steering arms and use the shorter sterring arms.
I have used this setup for over 10 years with no probs. I also have founName: 2015-03-18 21.41.56.jpg
