      77 Esprit

Years and years ago when the car scene first grabbed my attention I had one car that stood out the most. 2nd gen F-body aka Pontiac Trans am. I chased them around for years but they were always out of my price range. So I eventually gave up on finding one and bought other cars.

A few months ago I finally found this one in Colorado that was in my price range. But to be fair I had picked up a 65 Lesabre a year ago and had dropped some coin on it which limited my funds for this car.

I've done some work to it so I'll just do a pic dump. My main plan for the car is a 6.0 swap paired with a th400. The 6.0 is currently at the machine shop.

List of things I have done.

      Wet sanded body.
      Removed seats and cleaned interior/dash.
      New door/trunk locks.
Repainted rear bumper from a donor car.
      Rebuilt driver side door hinge.
Swapped basic steering wheel for formula wheel.
Deleted a/c system inside and outside.
Deleted both a/c boxes. Regret not keeping the heater core lol.
Mocked up and wired new gauges with pin connectors.
      Installed center console gauge pod.
      Replaced center console lid.
      Fixed inop horn.

Cool project. Gotta love 2nd gen birds! I’ve never seen a cleaner build sheet.

Thank you! Yea I was also surprised with how clean the sheet is too! Not to mention it was still in place after all these years.

Looks like you've got a good bit of work ahead of you but you're starting with a nice, solid car.
Cars are meant to be driven.
