      2x4 Wheel Stands

As you can see, I built some stands to raise the car up this winter for some maintenance and projects. My concern with being on the stands for a period of time is that the edges of the 2x4's leaving marks or pressing into the tires so to speak. Should the top 2x4's have a bevel edge or even be 45 degree cut so I don't damage the tires any?

It wouldn't hurt to bevel them a bit.

I added a 1 by 4 in the middle and braced it underneath. It sits just about like it would on the concrete.

The 2x4 stands I built are flat on the top so it’s just like being on the floor.

I topped mine off with a piece of 3/4" plywood and cut a 45 degree bevel on the inside edge of the 2x4s. The tires have more support on the stands than they have on the ground.
