72 Lemans Sport wheel and tire size help

Looking to upgrade my wheels to 18x8 with 4.5" BS front with a 245/45/18 tire and 18x9 with 5" BS with a 295/45/18 tire. Suspension is pretty much stock. Does anyone think I'll have any issues with this set up?

This is my current set up, fronts 17x8 with 4.5" BS with 235/45/17. Rears 18x9 with 5" BS with 275/40/18.

I've heard people run your current 275/40 18x9s rear setup on the front with 6-8mm offset (~5.25 backspace). Have you tried doing a temporary swap to check the fit? Same height as the 245/45R18 and over an inch more rubber. For the rear, since it's 1/2" per side difference from now, measure the clearance and it should give you a pretty good idea.

I didn't think about that, but it's a good idea. Thanks!!

Welcome! If it works out, something to consider would be running the same combo all around so you can rotate tires.

Did you try the rear to front experiment? I’m working out sizes for a ‘68 Beaumont Wagon, same A-Body chassis.

I’m wanting to go with 255/55R18s square, if they’ll fit.

No, I didn't. I actually went with a totally different set up. Went with 17x8 in front with 225/50/15 & 17x9 in the rear with 275/50/17.
