      Helmet , which one?

      Need one for autocross, novice if that matters, Which one do you recommend and why?

      If you're going to use it repeatedly and not just as a tryout, suck it up and buy a nice helmet out of the gate. When I finally got around to buying a Shoei after years of inexpensive stuff, the difference in comfort alone was amazing.

      Whatever it is, make sure it has the most recent SNELL rating so it doesn't go out of date in a year or 2. I had an SN2010 rated HJC that was really comfortable. When it went out of date, I replaced it with an SN2015 rated Racequip that I'm less fond of from a comfort perspective. Open face helmets are better for visibility and for staying cool at hot events if that's a concern.
