      Recaro seat mounting 73 Firebird

Hi all...I used to have some Sparco seats with Sparco seat mounts on my Firebird but the mounts just left the seats sitting too high...I had to almost tilt my head to the side or really slide forward. Super uncomfortable. Ive since taken them off and gone back to the factory tombstones.

      However...those arent ideal performance wise.

Id love to go with some Recaro LS...does anyone have experience with some mounts that put the seats as low as factory??

I am using Planted Technology seat brackets on my Recaro's and am very happy with the height in my 71.

I never measured them, but feel that due to the bottom of the Recaro being shorter (less cushion height), they are slightly lower altogether in the car.

I have the Planted mounts with my Recaro seats in my 69 Firebird. I also have the Recaro sliders. With the sliders, I sit slightly higher than the stock seat. The stock seat had a really soft cushion tho so I sank into it. I feel like if I removed the sliders it would be the perfect height. I still may do that and just mount the seats directly to the bracket exactly where I want them.

That would be ideal! Its not like I need the sliders on the drivers aside anyway...

Slider direct to the floor...interesting. Will consider it.

I don't think that slider is bolted directly to the floor. It appears they lowered the bracket significantly, even contouring it to the floor. Then the slider is bolted to that.

The Planted brackets are nice, but I was able to lower mine a solid inch by cutting the legs and rewelding them. Just enough to get bolt in from under the car, and slide the nut onto the bolt from the top. Not even enough room to get the bolt in from above! (68-72 A body)

I just put recaro ls seats in my 71 Lemans and couldnt be happier. I used wedge mounts and sliders and the seating position is perfect. I also bought a set of wedge adapters and sliders to put my recaros in the 73 Bird but am still working on other portions so have not test fit them yetName: IMG_0270.jpg
