      A pillar/door gap finish, 2nd gen

Finishing up the body on my 70 Firebird and need help.

Not quite sure what to do in this area between the a pillar and door, so looking for suggestions. I can’t recall if there was just a pile of caulking in that gap, or something else?

Can someone post a real good pic of that area of a car (early 2nd gen firebird or camaro) with no door molding?

That gap should only be 1/4” or so. No filler. What does the door to rocker gap look like?

The door to rocker gaps look good. I should have been clearer. The gap itself isn't the issue. In fact, the taper towards the end of the windshield trim aligns perfectly with the bottom of the a pillar. My concern is how to finish the area behind the windshield trim within that gap. I won't be running the decor trim on top of the hood, fender & door below the A pillar so whatever's in there will be visible.

I’ve built several of these cars and your door looks a skooch lower than the ones I did which makes that gap bigger.

I have never done any body work to that area.

Thanks for the input. I've only done one other '70, and that was while back, so details are a little foggy. This morning I was looking for a good shot of that area on-line and came across a photo that showed something that I completely forgot about...the lower windshield trim pieces. Duh! Those mostly cover the area I was concerned about. Fortunately, I had a pair of the one year only '70 version in my stash, and they fit really well so all is good.
