What are the most comfortable seats for a 69 Camaro ?

I drive my car on backroads and will do a 100+ miles each time so what is your opinion on the best all around seat for comfort, lateral support and quality ?

I had Procar Rally seats in my car which fit great, fairly comfortable and had the perfect seat height and slid back really far ( i'm 6'2 ) but the wore out quickly
the side bolster foam broke from getting in and out sliding over it. So I wanted to buy a higher end seat and bought a pair of TMI Sport XR which fit terribly, too tall and not all that comfortable plus spent several hundred getting the seat base foam cut down along with the mounts.

I'm looking for a great pair of seats that fit without modification along with great mounting brackets. Any first hand suggestions ?

      Thanks ... JT

Hi Jake.. how about procar elite?
Recaro Specialist if you can find them are probably you best option.. but after waiting 3 months then the order failing like 5 times I gave up ... this was during covid peak and during recoro facility move.. so you may have better luck now..

Recaro seats with Planted Technology seat mounts. Not inexpensive but checks all your boxes. I’ve got the Specialist M’s in my 68 Camaro and love them. I’m 6’ and have plenty of room overhead and front to rear. Planted mounts are very low profile and disappear once in the car so they’re basically invisible

I'm also interested in this topic. I have Corbeau A4 micorsuede wide, and while I consider them to be comfortable overall, the bolster on the base digs into my right thigh and gets annoying on longer trips. I'm not sure if I want a seat with a shorter bolster, or a larger one? My thinking on a larger bolster is it will spread out the pressure of my leg over a larger area and as a result be more comfortable. But then a larger bolster makings getting in/out of the car more difficult.

I'm looking at the Corbeau RRS, RRX, and Sparco Chrono Road.

Braum has some nice looking seats as well, but not much info out there on quality and comfort.

I'm just a touch over 6'5", so a low seat base is very important. I also prefer cloth or microfiber, at least in the center section.

      https://www.racing-seats-usa.com/spa...lter=undefined All cloth

      https://www.racing-seats-usa.com/cor...l?swatch=74901 No cloth options

https://www.racing-seats-usa.com/cor...l?swatch=55022 I'm digging the plaid cloth center!

      Shane,
I really appreciate this. All the money spent on the car not to have great seats. Thanks ...

Size: 1.91 MBI am having a similiar experience with the Procars and don’t want TMI ones. I lucked out and found a set of Recaro Specialist on FB Marketplace for $300. Needed recovered anyway. Just have to search for them.

The 5th gen Camaro recaro seats are very comfortable. I think your best bet is find a comfy seat in a car then buy it on eBay. All these aftermarket seats I don’t think are on par with quality as oem seats. Plus you’ll get features like power, way more adjustments and maybe heated/cooled.

Here’s what the Camaro Recaro look like:

^^^This. I have Recaro Sportsters with Planted mounts and now have 2 more inches of width at the thighs over the previous sport seats I had (Sparco Chrono) which make a big difference for me when using the clutch pedal and getting in and out. I have the Recaro sliders too so there is the added height of that but it's not a problem because the bottom cushion angles down towards the rear so much on these. The seats will still lean all the way forward for back seat access and not touch the sun visors even tho they have a full headrest. Due to their narrower design, I have MUCH better visibility when backing up.

I tried 4 different seats and these are the only ones I found as comfortable as the stock seats for long drives but have all of the added sport seat support. Plus they don't look like a giant recliner in the car compared to some TMI or Procar seats. The thigh bolster is high and requires caution when getting out so you don't cause excessive wear, but is no problem at all getting in.

The P/N is 00959CRMSKYNR - which I believe is the standard. Because I have the Morris 3-pt seat belts, I was warned the Large would be too wide to accommodate the retractor. Even with the Recaro Sportsters I needed to buy special slimline recline adjustment knobs.

Yes, you had the "Medium" size, the larger size does not have "M" in the model number. My Corbeau A4 wide is very close to the Morris seatbelt retractor as well. I didn't think of that. something else to consider while shopping!

Takes modifying but the 04-06 GTO seats are the most comfortable of any car I’ve been in(Volvo,BMW etc) and with power all in them. In my project: https://www.pro-touring.com/threads/...04-GTO-LS1-man I’m 6,1 and 170 and these seats could easily support 300lbs; rugged frames.

I've only sat in these on the floor, but even without the power lumbar hooked up, the 2000 Trans Am seats feel great. Seat's have power air lumbar bolsters bottom and back. Wrinkles show no power for a few months of sitting in the storage shed.

I'm probably gonna go with the straight perforated pleat rather than the diamond (I photoshopped that) but I have to decide soon, dropping them off in a week. These pix show them as normal look.

Might also carry the perf material over the front center with or without the pleats.

You might've guessed by now... I have a white interior and I love it.

Did you get yours done yet, in white? Photo would be appreciated.
