What is everybody using for late model door latches in a 1969 Camaro with power locks?

      James,
I've never thought about the late model door latches. Seems like a great idea. Were they hard to do?

Easy for me as I just paid the bill.
But only a couple of hours labour.
I'll be able to update my thread shortly on getting them setup with soft-touch actuators on the original 68 door handles.

I pulled the car apart the first day I bought it so I honestly have no idea what they were like originally haha. And the doors are still empty so it's hard to confirm the improvement just yet, I could do a nice comparison video once/if my car is ever finished.
I liked the idea of the modern latches paired with locking solenoids and soft touch opening.

Yeah I'm in Huntersville, just north of Charlotte

I think the doors do close better and more reliable. I'm using the 5th gen latches and outside handles on mineName: IMG_20210102_171508214.jpeg

I'm using 68 door handles with actuators so it will still resemble the original exterior

What was the final outcome here? Worth the effort? Able to keep the original look? Loved the idea of upgrades but just wanted to know what you thought when it was said and done
