1970 GTO - clash between DSE Steering Gear and OEM steering pump

      Hello -

Would like to get any available advice on how you guys would approach this one.

I’m in process of updating the suspension on my 1970 GTO to include new Detroit Speed Kits in the front, rear, all new linkage, Baer brakes, and a new DSE steering gear.

The inlet fitting on the new steering is slightly higher than the OEM gear, which is causing the fitting to hit the bottom of the steering pump. What are the best options out there for aftermarket steering pumps that will fit in stock GM A-body brackets? Seems like most of the pumps I have been able to find so far use serpentine style setups. Was hoping to stick with a direct replacement for now, digging into the motor will be the next phase of the project. Might end up swapping to an LS, so don’t want to sink a bunch of money into an accessory drive update just yet.

Probably the simplest way out for now. Or hammer a relief into the canister, I can't remember how much room is there before it crashes into the pump.
