Been slacking for a couple months and had a couple vehicles to wire up for some customers. I’ve started doing a wiring service in the last couple months. Trying to get jobs lined up so need to get my car moving so I have the room.

Now onto the wiring. I opted for an American Autowire harness for the body. I cut the Holley wire harness in half and installed Mil-spec connectors. Modified the factory style fuse panel bulk head connector and firewall to accommodate a MilSpec connector for the headlight harness as well.

Built a rear main power fuse and ground panel, modified a GSI Machine optima battery mount and mounted the battery, built an ECM, fan and relay power buss bracket for up front on the trans tunnel. Car is coming to get her quickly. Have to pull the heads that’s a long story so hopefully car will be making noise by next week.

      Budget Build 1970 Nova

Got a little more done, should be installing the carpet and seats tomorrow.
Got the Holley 12.3” finally mounted is a tight fit when trying to maintain a good viewing angle. Bezel a “Holley” Racepack dash that I cut up. Had to space the column and notch the shift bowl. This may change once my swap for the manual trans Tilt column. I may even take out the Holley dash and go to a Dakota Digital.

Rear end is 56” flange to flange. For the ridetech four link I just followed the instructions from the kit.

      Budget Build 1970 Nova

Was originally planning to keep the bench seat, with the Speedtech trans tunnel piece it was going to require some extensive modifications in addition to modifying it for bolsters and everything to keep me planted. Was cheaper and way easier to go with a set of Corbeau GTSii seats. Plan is to have medium blue plaid inserts put into them at a later date when I get to redoing the interior. I made some seat brackets from 3/16” flat stock. I had originally built them with a down slope that followed the contour of the floor but that made them rub the trans tunnel so had to go with a flat style bracket. I sit a little high in the car and should have ordered the seats with 1” cut out of the foam. All that being said I am pretty happy with the fit. Name: IMG_5989.jpg

Been a little slow getting to this point. Have been battling some leaks, pretty sure they’re all sorted. Tig welder I had died so I bought a new Miller Synchrowave 210, this is my first time ever messing with stainless steel results are not good but not bad. Plan is to keep playing with stainless and when I’m ready I’ll purchase all sanitary stainless and redo the entire exhaust. Brakes are bleed, front end is eyeball and tape aligned so should be good enough for a test drive this weekend.

Where'd you learn your wiring skills, you don't see this style of wiring out of the basic garages, usually aerospace, military, something specialized,

      Nice build, you work quick,

Thank you for the compliment, was raised around cars. Did my first V8 swap in an S10 in 1996, worked as a VW tech for years. I have done right around 13 LS swaps for myself and helping friends over the years. I now am in the process of trying to start a wiring and plumbing business for custom built cars, just do it out of my garage currently.

It’s finally down on the ground and driveable, still have a lot of things to sort out but after all this work I’m going to say it was worth it. Name: IMG_6361.jpg

Thank you. Still have some work to finish up, need to modify the front inner fenders and roll the fender lips. Have a couple customer cars to get completed before I can get back on this.
