Went bad in me 5 minutes of use...can’t find it or similar online.

Similar switches are readily available. Four terminals: power, low, high and park.

      Google wiper rotary switch.

Don, I googled it and didn’t come up with something similar...can you point me? It’s a 7 position switch.

Sorry I thought it was a simple hi lo park switch. Looking closer it has a printed circuit board on the back of the switch so custom. You will need to go to the wiper system manufacturer.

Anyone know the pinout of the connector? Im trying to figure out how this switch makes the delay work.

If you get desperate, maybe try the delay switch from New Port Engineering. I believe there's is a 6 wire switch with one being for a washer and the other ground. Should be wired as power, high, low and park. Who's wiper system do you currently have?

Appears to be from an older Detroit Speed wiper motor kit, which uses a GM wiper motor. Electronics in the motor assembly performed delay function. Switching various resistances onto an input lead changed delay time. High speed activated a relay. Newer switches have a wash function, wiper motor is from GM also. Don't believe newer switch is compatible with 'old style' motor.

It is from their old kit, but I just bought it brand new from NPD. I hope DSE has one sitting in a drawer or someone around has a broken kit I can salvage the switch. Hopefully if it’s not avail, the new switch does work.

Are you sure the switch is bad? DSE stopped using that setup because of a connection that was failing in the wiper motor.

I can bypass the switch and the motor works. Trying to test the switch for continuity in all positions and none of them give me a reading. If the switch was working I assume I would at least have high and low...I would think.

When you are testing this is the switch grounded? Just a thought....

Grounded? What do you mean? I’m testing continuity.

I assumed incorrectly that you were bench testing it with power. Switch would be grounded in the car, not sure if it makes a difference.

What are you testing continuity with? An ohmmeter? What scale?

So it worked and then died? In the car?

Yeah, I was adjusting the sweep of the wiper arms and they simply stopped and parked. The switch would do nothing after that. I’m using a common multi-meter. I figured there could be a problem with the circuits in the motor, but if that was the case, I should have been able to turn the wipers on low or high, but can’t. With the switch in high or low, I should have continuity from the power input pole to the switch wire pole, but nothing. If I simply bypass the switch at connect the wires, the motor runs. So I don’t have continuity through this switch, unless I’m totally missing something.

How many positions on the wiper motor connector, and how many wires used?..colors?

4 wires, 7 total positions. Orange (power), green, blue, and white dotted black.

i think I found the source of the actual rotary switch, but no wiper board. So this is a custom piece from Detroit Speed, or they contracted it out? U
