Slowly, but surely the parts are trickling in.

The perfect compliment to the Rick's RestoMod tank and the ZL1 Camaro pump module is the pwm controller from vaporworx. The VaporWorx controller is a closed loop controller that will maintain a steady 58psi at the rails, without the need for an external regulator, and a single feed line from the tank to the engine.

Johnny is also doing great. He has gained 20 pounds in 2 weeks and it getting very comfortable in our house. Maybe a little too comfortable...LOL

So with the vaporworx controller you don’t need to run a return line? Also, how much cheaper is the new tank vs. the stainless steel version?

That is correct, regarding the return line. The RestoMod tank was just over $400, directly from Rick's, which is significantly less expensive than their high end stainless tanks.

No external regulators, return lines, or filters are needed when the fuel module and pwm controller are used. It works very similar to the systems used in todays high horsepower cars. Camaro, Cadillac, Mustangs, Hellcat, Demon, etc. There are no OEM high horsepower return type fuel systems being used by the OEM's.

Seems like my plans were pretty obvious, given the parts collection...

As I stated before, the purpose is to update and refine certain aspects of the car. The Holley swap components and the vaporworx controller are an essential part of that.

I do have some other things that will be upgraded as well, but y'all will just have to wait and see.

Another piece of the puzzle arrived today.

This is the new Tremec TKX transmission from Bowler. I chose Bowler because the offer great service and Craig comes around the forum to answer transmission related questions, which I really appreciate.

This is obviously the GM version with a 2.87 1st gear and .68 5th gear. This should make for a great combination with my 3.42 rear gears and 27" tall rear tires. The TKX is a forward step from the TKO and Tremec claims that no transmission tunnel modifications are required for GM A-bodies.

I got mine with the 2" offset shifter, which should make it a little easier to work with my existing shifter hump, which is not stock, but was built to work with the Richmond 6 speed transmission that I currently have.

I am hoping the the modern synchronizer design of this transmission will offer crisp gear changes and improved overall performance.

I just read on Modern Drive Line's site, They say 8,000 RPM shifts. I thought it was 7,500 RPM, either way that's some lofty speed.

The Brown truck delivered another much anticipated item. I will be using the Holley Mid Mount accessory drive system to really set off the engine compartment.

These are stock photos from the Holley website, because pictures of a big box aren't very exciting.

After looking at various installation pictures, I am fairly certain that the air intake tube from my shaker base will need to be modified, because it looks like it will not interfere with the AC compressor. This is all part of the process...
