It's a bit hard to tell from the photos, but are the plug wires a bit long? I had custom wires made by Kingsborne that came out perfect. https://www.kingsbornewires.com/
They are a touch on the long side, which is why I have the plugs on the coil side facing forward. Thanks for the tip on custom wires!

Since I am back to looking at the oil pan for turbo drain, I found this smooth 90 degree fitting on Amazon. I will probably still have to pull the pan to install it, but hopefully that will be the last time!

I also got my first order from Stainless Bros for the turbo up-pipe. I was very impressed that they had everything that needed in stock and it shipped the same day. I placed my order on Monday afternoon and got my parts Wednesday afternoon. I was also pleased to see that everything was thoughtfully bagged and well packaged.

This is a 3" 135 degree bend that will go on the manifold exit.

I also got some precut pie-cuts that will be used to snake around and place the turbo where I want.

Quick Performance finally sent me that remainder of the rear end parts. Yes, they shipped the carrier in a Menards bucket, which was then packed in a really heavy duty cardboard box. No complaints, just found it funny. It's a Yukon bolt through aluminum carrier with an Eaton 35 spline TruTrack and 3.25 gears, plus the CV pinion yoke, which I sent them.

I've also been keeping Vic busy with small machining projects. He used some really heavy duty loctite to install a 3/8" NPT plug into an existing port in the intake manifold, then drilled it out to a 12mm hole. This is for the Bosch TMAP that I will be using as the main vacuum/boost sensor for the Holley EFI.

The MAP sensor below it is for the vaporworks fuel pressure controller. It will adjust rail pressure based on vacuum and boost to maintain a consistent deferential pressure across the injectors. He also added a port for the vacuum line that will go to the catch can.

He is also going to drill and tap little holes for P-clamps that will hold the oil feed line for the turbo.

      Thanks Wayne!

This morning Vic sent me a few mock up pictures of the new radiator (I had to get a new one...long story) with all of the tabs ready to weld. The tabs on the radiator will hold the fans, heat exchanger for the A2W intercooler, and the AC condenser.

      Progress is being made.

You may want to consider adding gussets to the tall standoffs. There's a lot of lever arm and not much standoff footprint.

Some of my friends rag on me for not dropping the engine in the car, but this is the kid of stuff that is so much easier to deal with when the engine is still on the stand. This situation is on Holley. Not sure what their thinking was...

      This situation is on me...::facepalm::

The added holes for the P-clamps turned out really well. I like the look and how the oil feed line for the turbo will be well supported.

This is with the fuel rail fitted.

Hopefully this oil feed line routing doesn't cause any issues.

The oil line looks good, nice and neat. It's tough trying to fit all the sensors in such a tight area.

That MAP sensor doesn't look secure being flipped around like that considering the intake is going to be under pressure. It would benefit from having a brace from the bolt up to keep the sensor pressed in. All you'd need is something like this to hold it in, and you could probably make one from a piece of hard plastic or some rigid sheetmetal in a few minutes. Someone probably makes a polished, decorative piece as well.

      Andrew and Carl,
If I recall correctly, I just tee'd off of my MAP signal wire and it referenced my vaporworx pwm controller. Is that not an option here and just get rid of the lower MAP sensor all together?

Everything is looking great so far.

You're correct. I'm just being picky...I don't like splitting sensor signals.

I masked off the intercooler and then blasted it. Not sure why I didn't get a picture of it after blasting...

I also blasted the various machined areas of the intake manifold.

I also went around the whole intake and broke all of the hard corners with a file. It is amazing how sharp the machined edges can be.

All of this is in preparation for Cerakoating when the weather finally warms up a little.

      Hi Andrew,
Why can’t the Holley EFI just send the MAP input signal as an output signal to the fuel pump controller?

      I figured it out:
A variable 0-5v output signal is not an option.

An old oil pressure sensor was turned into a plug.

The lower MAP sensor was turned around and a new mounting hole was added for solid retention.

I decided on this fitting for the oil drain. It's stainless and it swivels. As long as it doesn't stick out too far, it should be good to go.

It is about 1.75" from the pan to the end of the fitting. The fact that it swivels will make it easier to fit the drain hose.

I removed the press in nipple off the passenger side valve cover and use a 1/8" NPT tap and added a stainless plug.

The injectors fit well with the rails and the intercooler brick. I will be able to route the injector wiring and the coil wiring together and run them back to the bulkheads that I showed before. These are Holley 120lb/hr, low impedance injectors.

This is an Earl's oil fill adapter that has an ORB fitting and it will go to the catch can.

      Baby steps...

What about using one of the oil galley plugs as the oil line source?

It would be a nice option if Holley, or any other aftermarket ECM, had a parallel function available. Whatever the MAP/FPS/OPS etc. puts out, the same voltage is sent out. Seems like a relatively simple function.

I wish that I was reporting some progress on my GTO, but the last 90 days have been crazy busy for me. I am no complaining, but it has dampened my enthusiasm on the GTO.

However, one of my customers is building a 57 Chevy, using the Hooker turbo manifolds, and a single BW S475. These are his pictures.

He too is using the Holley mid-mount accessory drive system, and his turbo placement is very similar, if not exactly how I want mine to be. Notice the brace that he added from the head to the turbo.

I think this is an excellent idea and something that I will be adding as well. The turbo is about 35-40 pounds and having it hang on the up-pipe without any support seemed like a bad idea to me.

That brace is a great idea. How will you mount the brace with your V-band? That guy appears to be using a t4 flange.
