1964 Buick Skylark Bucket Seat Sugesstions

Hello, I’m soliciting any suggestions for front bucket seats for my 1964 Buick Skylark Convertible. Looking for modern seats that recline. Any pic would be greatly appreciated

On my 68 C10 I bought a set of 2014 VW GTI seats for $275. They were gray and I wanted them black so sprayed them with Dupli Color fabric spray bomb. They turned out great.

Thank you for the information and sharing a pix. With my Buick being a convertible, and me being 6'-7", I'm concerned that the newer seats won't sit low enough. Your pix really helps with the visualization.

I've used 4th gen Firebird seats on several A body cars and find them to fit and sit very good.

I'm 6'6 210lbs and Im running Cobra Stuttgart seats in my '64 Corvette coupe. They're mounted directly to the floor with some brackets I fabricated to get them as low and far back as possible. The seat backs are infinitely adjustable via a knob. The only thing I dont like about them is that there is no "flip forward" function, but I was willing to give that up to have a vintage looking but modern seat.

Put 2007 Maxima power seats in my 64 chevelle. Had to do a little welding/fab to get them to fit but I love them. They have decent bolsters to keep you planted. As above I set the seats back pretty far due to 6'1" frame.

Don't have any pics as I'm not proud of the interior just yet, only thing I really have is this vid.

Found a pic but this was when I just sat them in there. Unfortunately the interior hasn't gotten much attention after this pic, it's been all drivetrain/suspension.

I installed some 2004-2006 GTO seats in my Monte SS, it’s one of the best mods made to the car.
i built some seat rails of 1/2” bar stock (Home Depot) and welded 2 rods together to make a 1” wide 1/2” rail which I could tap and weld bolts for seat attachment. I added some tabs in 1/4 steel and oversized 5/8” holes and used washers and nuts to give some wiggle room to install the seats. I’ll try to re-host some pictures of the seat rails.

The GTO seats are some of the most comfortable seats I have driven in, another I would suggest is BMW M1, or M3 convertible seats (2007/2013) as they come with the integrated 3-point seatbelts.
Volvo convertibles, and Saab 9-3 and 9-5 convertibles also have some with the integrated seatbelt, which could be a plus.

i am 6’3”, my son is 6’6” and the GTO seats fit me better than most of the bucket seats, I have trouble fitting my rear or shoulders into.
In my car the floor slopes down toward the back, so I added 2” extra to the seat rails to move the seats back, and I get more headroom as a bonus.

In spite of the picture, I've had Corbeau RXX seats for a couple of years in my convertible. I drove the Power Tour and then took the car apart again for paint. Just redid the seat mounts on their 2" universal brackets. I am also 6'7" and they fit great.

Going to keep an eye on this thread, our 65 Chevelle came with second gen F-body seats and want to put something a little more era correct in it. Leaning hard to 66/7 strato buckets and a 66/7 console.

Very nice looking interior and the seats look great. Only thing I would do would be the console, never was a fan of the 64/5, no arm rest or box to collect crap!

The drivers side seat is power. Passenger side seat with power seems to be hard to find.

You can look on page seven and eight of my 64 Buick Skylark build thread. I adapted some Hyundai Genesis coupe front and back seats to my car. I modified the factory brackets to fit the existing mounting holes. They did sit a little higher than I would have liked but nothing I didn’t adjust too.
