    Auto X with a cracked windshield?

    Hi Guys!

    Im about to do my first AutoX event and I am very excited!

    My Camaro currently has a small (Under 6") crack in the lower driver side section of my windshield.
    I am wondering is this will cause me to fail tech inspection (Assuming they have one?)
    Basically Im just trying to find out if I'll need to replace the windshield before the event, because it would suck to drive out
    2 hours to the event and then be turned away due to the windshield.

    Any advice would be great. Thanks!

    I work tech at most of our SCCA autocross events and I can't imagine ever failing a car for a cracked windshield. You should be fine...

    Common F-Body problem. I hope you have solid body mounts and frame connectors.

    Got some Polyuerathane mounts and weld in sub frame connectors. Rock on the freeway started a small crack and the hood surprise falling shut on me expanded the crack recently.

    winhsheild crack the tv is full of commercials for Safelite Auto Glass, good

    Safelite was very good to us.

    When you add Power, you will create more Flex in the car - this can lead to Windshield cracks.



    adding Subframe Connectors will greatly reduce this flex!
