Rear sway body quest. - GM Body

I have rear sway which hit the diff cover if bolt on with existing parts. Think I must use a block and longer end like in pic to get the bar away from cover.... Is this correct?

Must the sway bar be parallel with the arms?

I would contact Addco sway bar company .Because they make most of them for the market .They can probably make a custom bar for you as well.

if we were sitting around having a beer and you asked me this, I'd say "it's fine bud". The forces for torsion are generated at the pickup points, so the orientation shouldn't have negative effect.

my go-to is McMastercarr. Search for "internal threaded connecting rods". I saw they have some in turnbuckle style so you could adjust the height with it still mounted still. They have 6061 Aluminum which would be plenty for the forces on a rear sway.
Might be other places you could find it cheaper, but Mcmasty is my go to for stuff I care about.

The the sway bar swing arms do not need to be parallel to the lower control arms, just try to get everything in a place where they all play nice together. You can even rotate the axle tube clamps back a little to gain a bit more space as well. Might need tack welds to hold everything in place once you find your spots though as they will try to twixt under duress.
