      Painting Chrome on Window Felts

the Window felts have a chrome strip. My goal is to make the the body colour (black). Can't powder coat them. How do I prep them to paint? Thanks in advance.

I would scuff them with a maroon scotchbrite pad and then apply a quality epoxy primer followed by the finish coat within the recoat window of the primer.

I have used SEM Trim Black on stainless truck mirrors with no issues. Like Don said scuff them well for a good tooth and clean and degrease before painting.

What they said. Sand, prime, paint and clear coat are the things needed for a good paint job.
