So customer said it drove, shut off and no more start,
So I find this (in pic) , slide new belt on, car starts no bent valves. Then reassembled rest, car won't crank over. So owner figures dead battery is junk, buys new one and still won't crank.
So I get long rachet out and engin only moves in one direction and I see tensioner move. Hmm something locked up. Bad alternator.
Sucks as old cars isn't big for making lot of money but at least it should run.Lee Abel

When the alternator locked up it tore the teeth off the timing belt.
