      Question about c clip eliminators

Working on a car ( not a pro touring car) that has c clip eliminators on a Chevelle 12 bolt rear end. I need to repair a backing plate and have to pull the axle. I have never worked with them before So do i just remove the four bolts from the axle flange and yank it out? Do I even need to pull the diff cover????
      Thanks in advance
