      17inch rallys on my 69 Camaro

      Hi Guys,

      Just bought a 69 Camaro and cam with some super enormous wide 18" and I can't even drive my new baby.

      I've decided I want to go with 17" rally wheels. I found a couple of other rides that I really like and would like to mimic.

      The wheels are made by Wheel Vintiques, but I'm having trouble deciding on the backspacing. I asked this question elsewhere and the most the answers I'm getting are what they "should" be rather than what will work. I'm really constrained to the sizes the company offers since they dont make then in 1/4" increments.

      Below is the look I want. So far from countless searching these are what I've come up with it. Can someone tell me which of these combos would suit the best the look below? Vehicle would have to get lowered afterwards. Difficult question; I know. I hope someone can help

      1. 17x7 - 4" BS 235/40
      17x9 - 5" BS 275/40

      2. 17x8 - 4.5" BS 235/45
      17x8 - 4.5" BS 255/45

      3. 17x8 - 4.5" BS 235/45
      17x9 - 5" BS 255/45

      4. 17x8 - 4.5" BS 245/45/17
      17x9 - 5" BS 275/40/17

      Your question seems to be partially about the widths of the combos. The pic you posted does not really show what you're looking for in that regard.

      Ah yes, you're right.

      I was playing with that calculator, and there are subtle differences in those sizes. I guess what I was asking is which of those combos are going to fit best for the pro tour look with causing problems i.e rubbing.

      The company has a fitment guide on their website, but it requires about 6 different measurements. All of which seem really critical, and I would hate to even be an 1/8" off, which could easily be done.

      IMO anything that makes you debate 1/8" issues, simply doesn't fit.

      Maybe there are places for exceptions. Like with the inner side of the rim clearing the upper ball joint area of the UCA, or something. But not on the tires rubbing the frame/body. Frames and bodies flex. Suspensions are mounted on rubber bushings. Tire sidewalls flex. If the tire clears everything 98% of the time then it doesn't clear everything.

      These look the same as the Visions and their engineers told me they don't sell a Rally that will clear the c5 brakes.

      What is your front suspension, spindle and hub setup? Did you have to use spacers or clearance anything?

      Yup. The REV 107's are the ones I ended up ordering. I got them in 17x8 for the front and 17x9 in the rear. They dont make the proper 4.75 backspacing for the front, so I had to settle for 4.5. Might be some slight rubbing on full lock. Guess we'll find out.
