I love my LS and don't regret the change, but IMHO a cammed SBC sounds so much better. Just has a visceral sound that is MEAN!

I dont get this argument....nor why it keeps coming up.

The SBC came out almost 75 years ago. Why would anyone not expect the LS to be a better engine?

GM invested untold millions of dollars in R&D to build the LS, and people are going to argue they failed to improve on the SBC?

It is a personal preference for sure. I have a 418 LS with a stage 3 TSP cam which is fairly aggressive and I still prefer the sound of an equally cammed SBC... but that is just me.

Very true...I would sure hope modern technology was better. I personally like the sound of BBCs and the Fox Body 5.0, but I still prefer the LS to be powering the Camaro as its more efficient.
