      64 Tempest

      Picked up an original paint 64 Tempest, been in the same family since new. Hopefully in the winter it will get the suspension and drivetrain upgrade.       I have a 65 Tempest gto and had it acid dipped,I was asked to remove the data tag on the fire wall or it would dissolve since it’s aluminum.Since your tempest is still original paint could you tell me, is the data plate black or shiny and the vin tag which is stainless body colour or shiny by the door hinges.I have tried to find a original paint car to verify how the factory finished them and have had zero success. Congratulations on owning a original paint 56 year old muscle car.

      The data plate is matte or satin black, the VIN is shiny.
