      Pro-Classic or Ultra Pro?

I just discovered Earls Ultra Pro hose. It seems way more flexible and the fittings use a combination of a pressure ferrule and a threaded nut. Anyone use this hose? Is it better than the nylon covered steel braided hose? Im contemplating if I should change my direction to use this over the more rigid Pro-Classic.

I use the ultra pro and the pro lite 350. The ultra pro is better all around, especially for fuel. I like the way the twist on fittings are assembled for the ultra pro compared to the classic hose fittings
If you go on Earls website and select your hose type, under “specs” it will give you a rating for the hose based on what fluid you are using it for.
The pro lite 350 is rated pretty poor for fuel.

thanks, right now I’m looking to fix my oil cooler and oil tank lines. Do you use crimp or twist?

I believe that’s the Earl version of the Pro-Classic I currently have. I’m just impressed how flexible the Ultra Pro is...it’s going to be a $200 hit to use it though.

I used the pro-lite 350 with twist on ends for my oil stuff. They also have internal springs that you can put in to prevent the hose from flattening on tighter bends or suction lines.

I started off using Earl's Speed Flex because it was that classic and familiar look and functionality. Jesse over at Level 7 kept telling me to use Ultra Pro with twist on fittings. After a couple oil line leaks I caved and spent the money. WOW is that stuff fantastic! I wish I had taken the hit up front and run that for everything. It's so freakin easy to work with and the flexibility is more helpful than I expected.

So that's my vote. Go Ultra Pro with twist on fittings and never look back. Side note: Holley sometimes has fittings or certain sizes of hose as "out of stock" but Summit will have it in their warehouse to ship same day. Helps if you are as impatient as I am. I always copy the ERL part number from the Holley site just to make sure I get the right stuff since some of the Summit descriptions suck.
