      Lower control arm length

The car is a 66 mustang and I知 grafting a fox body k member . The track width of the 66 is 57 inches and the fox k member is 62 inches . I need to cut 5 inches from overall width. My plan is to use a 21.5 inch rack from DSE and cut 3 inches out of the k member. instead of the 24.5 inch fox rack and use the 13 inch lca instead of the 14 inch . Or just cut the lca down to 11 inches or so and split the balance. I知 not trying to copy the colt 65 system but the math of the components used seem as though they might use a rather short lca to obtain a reasonable track width for the early mustangs. Any thoughts?
