      Tensioner position

When measuring for a drive belt what position should the tensioner be in when the belt is installed?

Right now my tensioner is pulled 3/4 of the way to the stop

Just wondering if thats enough play

      Thank you

That should be fine. Typically 2/3 from rest is the target.

I agree with Carl on this for a conventional belt. However if you are going to use a Gates RPM or similar the belt tensioner only needs to go 1/3 to 1/2. This is because these type of belts do not stretch as much.
