      Crankcase ventilation for NA 5.3

I just put a junkyard 5.3 LM4 together and used valley and valve covers that do not have spouts. I drilled and tapped the valve covers and added -4an fittings to each one and t'd those together. Now, with with the 3rd port of that T, should i run that to the port on TB or just put a filter on it and cap the TB port?

Are you running a MAF? If yes it needs to go to the intake tube between the MAF and throttle body so the air is metered. Valley should go to the TB.

Edit: if you are not going to use a valley cover vent disregard the above.

I'm not running a MAF and not planning to use a valley cover vent.

I would run the line to a vented catch can.

So mine has two vented valve covers on an 09 LC9, with the PS line running into the intake tube after the MAF and the DS line running into the top of the the TBSS intake. Smokes like a freight train so disconnected for now. How should I run mine?

Generally the driver's side is the fresh air intake, which comes after the MAF. Then the passenger side is the "dirty" side that goes to a catch can, then from the catch can to the intake.

I'm not sure that it makes a difference which side is the "clean" side. I'm just saying that the stock systems use the DS as the clean side. Are you using stock valve covers?

The way I do it is:

Intake tube after MAF to passenger side valve cover. Driver side valve cover capped. Valley pan connected to throttle body.
