So...is there a single company making these calipers and MP and Baer just put their names on them or are the MP counterfeits?

These brakes from MP look exactly like the SS4s etc.

Baer private labels for other companies, including various builders, like Schwartz Performance and Roadster Shop.

Baer machines their own parts, I've been to their machine shop, they're likely making MP's calipers.

I noticed that CPP sells calipers that look a lot like Baers as well. I'm curious if Baer private labels for them as well or if they have copies made off-shore somewhere?

Wouldn't surprise me if CPP reverse engineers them in China, but that is pure speculation.

You can get your calipers custom engraved by Baer. I'm sure that's all Roadster Shop and Schwartz are doing.
