      Wheel hopping, how come?

I have a 69 Nova with ridetech 4 link and shockwaves. I have 325 tires in the back and if I want to do a burn out my wheels start hopping ;-(
How is this possible and what can I do to prevent it?
      Please advice
      Thanks, Bram

Have you tried adjusting the shocks all the way in either direction?

Is the Nova at ride height? If it is, how do you turn the front wheels without hitting the fenders? I'm just curious, I also have a Nova.
      This is getting very expensive?

haha, no this is when its totally down (airride) I can't move the car at all in this position. It has to go up for about 3 inches to drive it.

How are your lower bars angled? My lower bars are slightly angled down front to rear which has the effect of the rear axle trying to drive the body up and the axle down as the car moves forward. I would also recommend adding more rebound in your shocks. The problem I had was wheel hop under hard braking which required an adjustment to the proportioning valve to reduce rear brake.

how is it possible? because wheel hop is not just a problem with leaf springs as many believe, many things can contribute to it, pinion angle, instant center, geometry, traction, springs and shocks.

This won't help your car, but I eliminated wheel hop in my Nova by raising the front leaf spring eye by 1 1/8". I replaced my Nova spring mount bracket with a '69 Camaro bracket.
If the changes in shock settings don't help try changing the angle of the lower control arms.

A lot of the posts above are information that I'd be curious to see as well.

Does your rear lower four link bar have adjustable mounting holes?
What kind of angle are the bars at while you're at driving height?
      What is the pinion angle?
Which Shockwaves do you have on the car? and where is the adjustment knob set at?

I believe '67 and '68 Camaro brackets are the same as the Nova, but the '69 Camaro bracket places the spring eye bolt 1 1/8" higher. There is also some slight misalignment of the bolt holes that are used to bolt the bracket to the body but that can be taken care of with a round file.
