Thanks Steve. I was just stoked to have something to do while the beaches and gym were closed. Now is a better time to have it at paint. They guy I am using seems to have good turn around times. I look forward to seeing our cars together at some point in the future. That would be cool.

      Body Work Update

Disclaimer: body work is not done by me (as is all other work) but here are a few updates. Wasn't planning on a complete restoration on the body but as most of you know, once it starts...

New Hotchkis leaf springs went in the back. Was suggested to go with the 1.5's. Had 2 inch lower blocks in what was probably saggy springs. Added .5 inch spacers to match the difference. will see how low they sit with the actual tires on as well as doors, trunk, hood and interior. Bushings seemed somewhat softer than the energy suspension ones that were previously on. Going to paint in a few days, wish me luck.

Car was originally automatic so this is the preliminary cut that was made to fit the shifter. Didn’t appear to be clearance issues but car went to paint before I measured for the drive shaft. I’ll have to determine if I need to cut anymore based on driveline measurements. Did you have any need to raise the tremec box above the tunnel. I’m using the Holley black heart mounts and amp crossmember.

Hi friends, I need some feedback. How do you guys feel about the door/front fender gaps. Acceptable or not. Want to make sure its not me being overly particular or it looking exaggerated due to the fact that the car is in primer. thanks for any input.

The way the camaro doors open can't get the front to close. That looks about right.

I really appreciate that Wayne especially coming from a guy with such a detailed build as yours. Blocking it off started today so maybe some color on it by next week hopefully.

      Finally got it back

Got 2/3rds of my car back, LOL. Put in the flywheel, clutch and TO bearing. Spoiler and taillights on as well as glass. Hood and fenders then a wet sanding. Little by little.

Thanks guys appreciate the feedback. Scored the seats from a salvage yard. Really wanted recaro’s but didn’t want to wait so long then these showed up. Surprisingly the red was a lot closer to dark red/burgundy which I dig.

Finishing things up and wanted to show the results of 20 months of work. Really stoked how it turned out for 2 guys with some hand tools and a compressor. Will post more pics of engine compartment and interior that are not on my computer. Really happy with the suspension and drivetrain performance. Car is a ton of fun to drive. Took a little bit longer due to it needing to be repainted by I'm glad to have had the experience to build it myself with a buddy. Learned a lot along the way.
