Where to put VIN 69 Camaro

Hey guys I smoothed my firewall and I’m putting in a dash from a Mercedes soooo... where should I put the vin tag? Should I grafted into the smooth firewall somewhere on the top right? Or put it in the drivers side door jamb?

Just fyi, it is illegal to remove the vin. That being said, the vin on my car is on the drivers door jamb between the hinges and it’s mounted vertically. Be sure to use oem style rivets to re-attach it, so that it doesn’t draw any attention. Also, I would take several photos of the original vin in its original location to help verify that it is the correct tag for the car, just in case.

I would somehow install it on the dash in roughly the same location as it was originally. All it’s going to take is one “dedicated” police officer and you’re going to have a problem....

So what is the original location for a vin for a 69 camaro? Is it in the dash or drivers side door jamb? Or was it in both locations?
