3 oils to cool - Which one to cool externally?

I have a radiator with 2 built in oil coolers. I had planned to use one for power steering and one for engine oil.

The '55 will now receive an LS and automatic trans.

Which two fluids would you cool in the radiator and which would you cool with an external cooler?

I have added a poll. Please pick which fluid you would cool externally.

      Thanks!

I am not sure either of those two coolers is large enough to cool your transmission if that is the C&R radiator. I had them custom make a radiator with all three coolers. The transmission cooler is the largest.

Hey Don, do you have one like this or get one with bigger coolers?

Hi Chris. It doesn’t look anything like that. The upper hose connection is on the drivers side and it is a cross flow with some kind of super duper secret sauce Denzo core. It had to be that way due to the third cooler on the passenger side. Made for some entertaining times to run the LSA air intake working around the upper radiator hose.

No pics sorry. Somewhere I have the drawing they sent me for approval of the design but I can’t find it.

I think Patrick has a similar radiator and I’m guessing that there are several hundred pics of it in his build thread :>)

Radiator was intended to be a scaled down version of a radiator Stielow used in one of his LS9 build.

      None of the above ;-)

For the '55 I'd skip the engine oil cooling completely. The intended use of the car is such that the extra expense and trouble to route all that stuff will likely end up leading to a negative benefit due to cold oil. The oil temps in the Camaro are way too cold most of the time even with a thermostat.

Ditto with the power steering. Is it ever going to get that hot/rpm/track duty to start overheating and spitting fluid?

Depending on the size and location of the coolers perhaps they can be run in series as a transmission cooler.

Oh, and I do know where you're going to get a fuel and fan controller!
