Fluid over temp in powersteering / hydroboost

Well the story goes on... After all these setbacks I decided to run the hydroboost . I put the unit back in the car attached fluid lines and master cylinder. Fired the car up and the hydroboost sys was quiet however the power steering pump had a little noise but the fluid lines were really hot. The oulet temp on the AN fitting at the pump was 140* and the lines at the cooler was 95*
Any ideas as to why this fluid temp is getting hot would be appreciated
      Thanks,

      BobH

Have you bled out all the air in the system? HB systems can be hard to get all the air out and then the pump will make noise.

Are the lines hot after driving or just idling?

Got a cooler? Doesn't take much to over work power steering fluid. General underhood temps are easily 150

Yeah you absolutely must run a PS fluid cooler. Even just powering my steering rack on track the PS would overheat until I added a cooler. HB just makes the problem worse.

Yes I was running a cooler.. Temp was 140 at pump output ( Measured at fitting) Cooler lines temp 93 at inlet. I've given up (for now) on the hydroboost

Thanks for chiming in I appreciate it

In my experience, once you overheat the pump, it’s done. I overheated mine, it was noisy. I changed and flushed the fluid, added a cooler and it was still noisy despite it still operating. Swapped it out for another new pump and back to being quite.

I run a fluid to fluid cooler now.

Nothing wrong with those temperatures imho. My power steering cooler is in the radiator so the fluid is significantly hotter than that.
