      Ls oil prime

I have a newly machined l76 in my car. I primed it, saw oil pressure. I started it, ran for about 8-10 seconds, showed 60psi on the gauge, and shut it down for a fuel leak. Its sat about 3 weeks and I'm getting ready to purge the coolant etc. Is it neccessary to prime again? Getting my hands on a prime tool is a royal pain.

On a new build? I personally would. However people let cars sits that long all the time and don't re-prime. You probably don't need a pressurized tank now, just follow GMs instructions. Something along the line of disconnecting the coils and pulling the plugs...crank it over until pressure builds. That would be better than nothing

It shouldn’t be needed imho if it ran 3 weeks ago. People leave their cars parked for three weeks all the time...

Honestly it doesn’t matter what we think. It’s obviously on your mind, and if you don’t do something...if youre like me you’ll kick yourself for not following your gut. Especially if something does go wrong, you’ll be like “why didn’t I”.

I put a kill switch on my signal wire to the ecu from the key, that way I can crank the engine with no fuel or spark.
If I havn't used it for a week or two, it guarantees oil pressure before going under load.

There's still a film of oil on everything and it isn't under any load to speak of if just idling until pressure is built up, just start it up, it'll be fine.
