      Help with tires/size

Just ordered 18x9 front 18x11 rear Rocket Attacks for my 66 chevy 2. Would like to run the same brand tire front & rear. Pretty set on 255/35/18 front. Car is mini'tubbed rear to the frame rail (13.5" clearance w/ springs inboard). Scratching my head over 295/35/18 (Continental Extreme DWS) or Hankook Ventus 295/40/18. Wanting a flush to 'some sidewall' look. Back & forth on overall section width of tire so I dont have the '96 honda 7" wheel with a 265 tire stretched look' lol. Anyone running the size wheel? 305, 315's with any type of sidewall are like dinosaurs....

What does the front end have to do with rear tire size?

On a '66 Chevy II that's going to look insane! My favorite year too (well that and '67 of course). Can't wait to see it.

Ya that’s a lot of rubber on that body style. Should be sick. Btw that’s the same ratio that comes on my Porsche Panamera 255/295 - it’s a nice split.

Ordered the wheels first and did a fitment check. With the mini-tub to the frame rail and the leafs inside, looks like the 18x11's are going to be perfect. At least 1" clearance on the inside and about 3/4" clearance outside. Quarters had already been rolled. Took my chances on the 18x9 fronts with 6" bs and only minor contact to the lca at full lock in one direction. Wont be driven lock to lock so not too worried. Wanted the full visual of the wheels so popped the center caps in and the rear wheels caps rattled. Called Rob @ Rocket and said may be a bad batch of o-rings on the caps so he is shipping new rings. If it ends of being a machining tolerance on the wheel, the rears will have to go back and be swapped. Cant mount tires on wheels til i know all is good. The 295/35 rears are going to fill the wells in the rear and the 255/35 fronts look great too. Painful to walk out in the shop and see the wheels & tires separated from eachother since i am waiting on the outcome of the rear wheel center cap dilema! Cant order my 9" until i can set my rear wheels/tires in the wells to get the overall width....More waiting!

What length did your rear come out to be? I'm looking at the G comp rear suspension for my 67 and the rear is 54" hub to hub an I was trying to see what wheels/offset wold work.
