The old hot tiresize is now hard to find .. what to buy

My car was in the body shop Jail for 3 years. in that time it seems like the companies making 335X30X18 seems to have dwindled.
Last thing i want to do is run super stick rock grabbing paint damaging autocross tires.

Here are my options.. BFG Rival and BFG Rival S, TOYO Proxie, Pirelli P Zero. Thoughts on these three or other options appreciated.

I would go with the highest treadwear rating I could find which looks like 220. This is why I went with 19’s in the rear.

I'm in the exact same boat as you, I recently got rid of my 19's to go 18's all round to find my choice quite limited, I think I'll go with Falken azenis 315's OR the options you stated above. My new wheels run a bit wider so I may go the slightly narrower tires for my first set to minimize rubbing issues. If only Nitto INVO's came this wide.

im not a fan. Lots of issues with these creating hard spots and vibration issues. I would go with the bfg rivals all day. My buddy autocross Ed a few times a year lightly and put over 15k miles on them. Amazing tire and I run them as well

How are the Rivals for picking up gravel and throwing it at the car? I like to run something around 300 treadwear to minimize that. Michelin Super Sports if I remember right.

Rivals pick up some gravel and especially if it’s hot. I’m not really driving in gravel type roads so I’m good there. Best all around tire is the super sports/ps2/ 4s. All the same tire. If you are looking for the best all around tire, dry and wet traction you can’t go wrong. If you want more performance or need a stickier tire Bc if hp go with the rivals. I’ve had both. I’m running the rivals and my buddy is running 345/30/19 super sports.

I run the Rivals as well and I love them. Excellent tire and performs as you’d expect. As far as picking up rocks, I notice it only on hot days when I’m leaving my neighborhood. The streets are blacktop and given that they don’t have the heavy traffic associated with busy roads, there’s nothing to “work” the small rocks to the outside of the street. Once I’m out of the neighborhood, I don’t notice any rock chatter. After 2600 miles and several autocross events, most of which the car was driven to and from, i cant say my paint is any worse for the wear because of it.

Whatever you choose, just avoid Pirelli. Awful tires imho.

I am bummed too Michelin stop making 335/30-18 tires.

+1 on falken azenis. Dry traction is quite impressive. Road noise is low and wet traction is good with no obvious hydroplaning. These falken tires are on the comfortable side during daily driving though steering response is a bit twitchy.
