      Led Headlights

Saw the Stabil 71 Camaro on Car fix the other night. Interesting front end design, but sweet headlights.
Has anyone used these and what would need to be done to make these work in a 67 camaro.

A buddy of mine just put these in his Jeep and they are very nice quality and throw light big time!

      Thoughts

AH yes the Truck lite 27270c... As made famous by the Mark Stielow mayhem camaro.

I have them in my 1969. No modification required. Direct replacement.
i just took out the old headlight and replaced it with the trucklite housing. the only thing of note is that edge on the cast aluminum housing where the stock bracket sits is a little deeper so the headlights "stick out" past the trim rim a little..maybe 1/4 inch. Once they're both in you cant tell

I dont run that resistor and have no flickering. Just plug the trucklite plug directly into the stock plug.

These are super nice units. build quality is excellent and light out put is on par with my GFs nissan leaf which has OEM LED headlights. Not to mention they look cool as #@&$..i smile every time I turn them on..Got mine on Ebay for $350 for the pair..worth every penny just for the safety of actually being able to see

      Led Headlights

We've used them in several builds and have been happy. They do require a bit of modification to the inner bucket or outer rim, so they're not a 5 minute replacement like the stock ones.
      They work really well though!

It looks like they have 5-3/4" versions now, and like the 7", bucket mods are needed.

Thanks guys for your feedback! When you say bucket mods, can you be more specific? I am guessing that the hole in the back of the bucket needs to be enlarged so the back of the new light fixture fits properly?

I'm from Ontario, and I bought mine from Traction.[they supply equipment to big truck industry, open to the public] Mine cost $185 Canadian each, so not a bad deal with your dollar.

I think "cut off" is the term you're looking for.

Those lights are on my shopping list. As soon as the car runs and actually needs headlights I'm on it!

As far as fitment....The back of the trucklites is round as opposed to the JWs which stepped, so it fits inside adjustment bracket pretty snuggly. I think the only thing that trimming the bracket would do is sink the housing in the hole more more. If you look at my pic ypu csan see the lights stick out of the trim rim about 1/2" as opposed to being flush. I didnt think it was worth messing with...Once you tighten down the lock ring, the headlights arent going anywhere

Also im my opinion the JWs are kinda ugly and too "obvious"..Plus in the pic the light out put looks blue..Might just be the camera..The light out put on the truck lites is kinda purpleish like OEM HIDS/LEDS
Ill try and get a pic tonight if i remember

No relay. I just plugged it in the stock harness
From what I read the relay is supposed to prevent flickering in late model jeeps

where did you buy your lights, Decline? I tried looking for "Ironworks" and had no luck with anything related to lighting.

I installed a pair and they fit the 68 buckets and rings with NO modifications. I have heard that there could be problems clearing the RS headlight doors They also needed NO relay. Simple plug and go.
