      1969 Astro Ventilation Air source

Greetings everyone...dumb question. I am guessing my cables and seals are shot on my 69 camaro vert. I typically don't drive it when it gets cold, but cold air is blowing thru my dash vents, etc...I tried fooling around with the kick vent sliders, but they are in pretty bad shape too...If I wanted to block the cold air entry, short term, would covering the cowl opening with something work? i need new gauges etc..and will be taking the dash apart over the winter..

I believe the Astro Ventilation vents pull their air from the plenum at the base of the windshield so blocking this off may be a good temporary solution.
