School me on a good fuel system

Fuel systems are my weak point. I'm going to buying this Holley Terminator EFI in the coming weeks: https://www.holley.com/products/fuel.../parts/550-441

But the fuel pump their sell with their tank doesn't exactly look top-notch: https://www.holley.com/products/fuel...s/parts/19-404

I would like to run a proper in-tank setup and I don't mind a new baffled fuel tank either to support it rather than cutting into my existing one.

I think I'd like to run -8AN black nylon carbon impregnated PTFE lines, of course keeping a return line as I'm concerned with fuel temps out here in the CA desert. Also on the theme of temps, I want something that is electronically variable based on demand as it's my understanding that a fuel pump running at full power will only serve to heat up my fuel needlessly.

It only needs to support 650HP, but it's important to me that the fuel system is ROCK solid with more than enough juice to get the job done and minimal fluctuations in pressure.

I know there are some insane custom setups out there but as you can see, for just 650HP and doing HPDEs and road courses, I also know there are plenty of awesome aftermarket kits that should get the job done no sweat. I don't want over build it and waste money spent better elsewhere, but I also want to find the right balance so as not to be compromising anything either. For example, maybe a -6AN is plenty large for me and no need to go with a -8AN setup. I have no clue.

Please post up your suggestions or suggested vendors to reach out to on this.

      Thanks!

X2 on vaporworx. No need for a return line with pwm controller.

I absolutely will Carl. I'm in the midst of my T56 Magnum swap then I'll be turning my attention to the EFI and the fuel system.

Following this as well. I'm trying to plan out fueling for an FI system this winter and I think the only open issue is whether or not to commit to a returnless system.

Another +1 for vaporworx. My desires for a fuel system were similar for my Terminator install and Carl helped a ton in designing it. I did however have to custom build a tank in order to meet my goals.

My setup consists of an open non-baffled spectre tank modified to accept the 5th gen Camaro fuel module with Carl's pressure regulator and 2 corner pickups. This feeds a single -6 PTFE line thru an inline filter to the dead headed fuel rail.

      Clean, simple, easy and functional.

Once up and running, dial up Andrew and get him to help you fine tune it and you'll love going to EFI.
