R-T is the only vendor I'm aware of that uses delrin bushings with their swaybars (a plus in my book). They also include tall ball joints to correct the chamber curve.

Correct, the streetgrip kits include front arm Delrin bushings and tall ball joints. The Coilover kit has the Delrin already in the arms and uses the 1.75" taller (Tall) Spindle which is taller than the two tall ball joints.

Hey guys, so here's the situation. First of all, ride quality and handling compared to previous 11/10 love it. the only issues I have is ride height and parts that were not installed.

      1) The shop said something about not able to install the Ride Tech Ball joints, something about it not fitting right on my control arms. They kept the stock ones I have. Is that ok? does that affect anything?

      2) The shop also kept the stock U bolts on the leaf springs I had, apparently the RT wasn't going through well.. sorry no experience in this.. could that be affecting the rear height being too high? is that ok? (image below)

      3) They didn't put the top clamping plate on the leafs, only bottom. They said if you want to lower, we can remove the lower plate. Is that fine? (image below)

      4) You see, the front is way much lower than the rear.. just looks wrong. bothering me, if I get these, will that fix the solution? Doesn't the StreetGrip kit already comes with the 1" lowering kit??

      5) MuscleBar .. looks different than the one listed online.. thoughts??

      Hey Majj,

Looking at the install photos, I see you just have the standard kit. On the 67-68 cars, we recommend looking into this add-on. https://www.ridetech.com/products/st...-w-multi-leaf/

Due to the rounded shape of the 67-68 quarter panel, they don't "look" as low as the '69 cars. Adding this block setup on with the streetgrip leafs will help get rid of that fender gap. See picture/dimensions below:

As far as balljoint not fitting in the arm, it's the same mounting dimensions as a factory balljoint so I'm unsure of what they're talking about. If you can email me some pictures of what they're running into, I'd like to see them. [email protected]

Also, you have the brand new front sway bar that we just started shipping out the door. No worries there!

Hi Josh, thanks for getting back to me. The link you shared for the Lowering block, it says with Multi leaf. I thought my leafs are Mono? will that part work anyways?

      Is this part needed? https://www.ridetech.com/products/st...o-w-mono-leaf/

I'll try to take photos of the tall ball joints again, I guess the shop wasn't sure since the spindles din't go deep enough as the original ones I had.

      No problem!

Oops, forgot to post the second link: https://www.ridetech.com/products/st...o-w-mono-leaf/

It just depends on if your rear end has the mono leaf or multi leaf perches welded on it. Either one of those kits will work to help achieve your goal depending on what rear end you have.

The tall balljoint doesn't seat down in the spindle all the way like a factory balljoint. Once the taper of the balljoint is in and tight, you will see this gap (what makes it taller and helps with geometry).

*** From looking back at your pictures, you have a multi leaf rear end in your car. So you would use the first link that I posted.

Removing the lower plate wouldn't change ride-height at all. And perhaps might not be good for a composite spring when it flexes (I can imagine the lower plate allows the leaf to flex more without inducing stress, since it's not directly clamped).

However, if there is an upper plate, installing that on top would lower the vehicle by whatever thickness it is. When the axle is mounted below the leaf (like a Camaro), adding a spacer between raises the rear axle, which lowers the vehicle when it sits on the ground. On a truck where the axle is typically mounted above the leaf, adding a spacer between then raises the vehicle. If you want more lowering, then you need to install something like Josh mentioned, and that needs to fit between the axle and the top of the leaf.

Your new springs are mono- but your perches are multi-leaf. The reason why they talk about mono, is the mono perch is not as tall. The blocks will work fine for your application if installed in the correct position.
